Here’s Why You Can’t Keep Those Fitness Resolutions You Set

So we are midway through January, and this is about the time where the resolutioners are promptly making their exits from gyms nationwide. Either it was too hard to stick to your routine, you came in with the wrong mindset, you failed to plan or you had no idea what you were doing. The underlying reason behind your lack of consistency  can be something you may or may not have thought of before.

So what’s the secret?

Prior to New Years most of us were probably dreaming and scheming about how summer bodies are made in the winter. This means that we were planning on hitting the gym five days a week on some Teyana Taylor type ish. But this is the problem.

Ok I know, I’m a trainer stating that people saying they are going to the gym for an hour a day is the problem with their New Year’s Resolutions. Yeah, you heard right.

The problem with many of our New Year’s resolutions is not that they aren’t good, but its that we are not setting goals that are realistic to our lifestyles. People who don’t have the time or the energy to commit to going to the gym for an hour a day, are setting goals that don’t apply to their life. As much as trainers want their clients and people in general to make time for the gym, we must realize that isn’t always manageable.
